A Better Prayer

One man, too inebriated to drive, was walking home along railroad tracks when his foot suddenly became stuck. He pulled and tugged, but could not free it from the tracks. Then he heard a noise and turned around to see an oncoming train. In a panic, he prayed. "Dear God, please get my foot out of these tracks and I'll stop drinking."

Nothing happened.

With the speeding train closer, he tried again. "Oh, Lord, get my foot out of these tracks and I'll stop drinking AND I'll quit cheating on my wife!"

Still nothing, and now the train was just seconds away.

What Is Positive Thought?

What one person thinks is positive, another person may think is negative but people are often mistaken and there must be a way of determining what is really positive and what is really negative in life. What is that method that determines a positive thought from a negative thought? One psychiatrist, Dr. David R. Hawkins, has proposed the idea that some thoughts are detrimental to our general health as human beings and others tend to promote health and life in all living beings.

Are You A Leader?

In this world there are two kinds of people. You find leaders, who are few and far in between, and then there are followers who make up the vast majority of people in the world.

Leaders usually know where they are going, but the followers don't, because they are following. Now, I know that there is a debate about whether one is born a leader or whether one becomes one. I have a unique take on that.

I believe that everyone of us is born with the ability to become a leader, but whether one becomes a leader or not depends on what one chooses later in life.

Today, a Wonderful Day

Believe me, today is the most wonderful day of your life! You live in today; drink, dine, walk, talk, work and play today. Living today is not enough, make it a wonderful day for you.

In order to make your today a wonderful day, get up from the bed early in the morning. While brushing your teeth, brush away the unfounded fears about today. Look in the mirror and say: It's a wonderful day!

Go for a morning walk. Look what you were missing in your life. The chattering of birds, the smile of flowers and the (good) morning breeze gently touching your body. What a wonderful day!
